We arrived in Bar Harbor this afternoon after a short ride from Waterville. As we rode down into the harbor, we were greeted by fellow motorcyclists as they passed, with the raised left hand wave that is the common greeting for riders. There’s a fellowship that you find on the road with tons of people who share the same passion as we do. I often think to myself, “if there are bikers where I am going, there must be great views, awesome grub and friendly faces along with good times ahead.” I have yet to find the opposite.
This area is great for grabbing an awesome meal. One restaurant after the other featuring the freshest and most beautifully prepared fresh seafood straight from the harbor. All the restaurants have their menus posted, so as you stroll through the quaint streets, you have an unlimited choice of gastronomic adventures to explore. Also, ice cream made from organic, local dairies seems to be the dessert of choice, it seemed everyone held a cup of ice cream as they browsed the shops! It is also a pet friendly town. Lots of people with their four-legged, best buddies enjoying the same.
All of the photos posted today are taken in Bar Harbor, except for the one with the young man standing on the rocks, which was taken on Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park.
Thank you and I will keep blogging daily so come back later for more adventures,
